Hibernation (II) Forest of the Soignes, Brussels, Belgium - February 2012 The bright white isn’t the water reflecting the sun, but is ice that hasn’t melted, although temperatures are now well above 0°C, it was so deeply frozen during the 2 weeks where we had temperatures around -10°C that it still hasn’t melted! The same thing can be seen in ponds, there’s still a thick layer of ice that is melting slowly! |
